"David W. Evans, 47, of Albuquerque, died Monday, October 2, 2000 at his home.  He was born November 12, 1952 in Carrizozo.  He graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1971 and attended UNM.  He was a writer and poet, and was a former sports reporter for the "Tribune".  Survivors include his wife, Constance of the family home; his mother, Hope Evans of Alamogordo; a sister, Candy O'Dell of Alamogordo; and numerous other relatives.  Memorial services were conducted Saturday, October 7, at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home in Alamogordo, with the officers of the Elks Lodge #1897, officiating.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 1318  14th St., Alamogordo, NM 88310."
